What does " Beyond Organic" mean?
What vegetables does The Farm grow?
"Beyond Organic", as the name implies, goes above and beyond the traditional standard of "organic". We take extra steps to bring you and your family SAFE and SUSTAINABLY grown food without using pesticides or commercially available fertilizers. We make sure the land remains fertile by using nutrient dense compost, manure, and other natural soil amendments. Insects and other pests are dealt with using methods developed by nature, mainly by companion planting and using beneficial insects to combat crop destroying insects.
While this growing method is not the easiest, we believe the extra work will yield a product that is more nutritious and as nature intended.
A wide assortment of vegetables are available (more than 40 crops and over 100 varieties) at The Farm. We try to grow the vegetables you know and expect to find at a market and other varieties we think you'd like to try. Our high tunnel greenhouse's allows us to produce crops early and continue growing into late November. Here is just a sampling of the vegetables you can find at The Farm this season: tomatoes, spinach, salad mixes, carrots, potatoes, onions, cucumbers, peppers (including hot), eggplant, garlic, kale, ground cherries, fennel, collard greens, ginger, tomatillos, and many others.
